8 Amsterdam startup events you can attend the coming two weeks

As a startup it’s fun and valuable to meet with other startups. By attending startup events you increase your network and often find new business contacts and like-minded people. In this post, I will report on a selection of Amsterdam startup events taking place the coming two weeks that I think you, as a startup or startup enthusiast, should consider attending.

Week of November 25th – December 1st

Wednesday, November 27th: Weekly ‘Meeten en Drinken’ by Appsterdam
On Wednesday, November 27th Appsterdam will host the weekly ‘Meeten en Drinken’ event. This is the place for you to meet fellow Appsterdammers in a relaxed setting. Get to know members of the community, meet a potential business partner, bring your app to share with others, exchange ideas with like-minded people. No talks are ever scheduled and everyone is always welcome to join.

Thursday, November 28th: ACE Venture Cafe
On Thursday, November 28th ACE Venture Lab will host the monthly ACE Venture Cafe. This event serves as a physical center for helping innovators and entrepreneurs find one another and collaborate to bring their dreams to reality. ACE Venture Lab wants to create a friendly networking environment where you can meet people that share your passion for science and tech based startups.

Friday, November 29th: Human hosts The Startup Keg
On Friday, November 29th Human hosts The Startup Keg. The Startup Keg is an initiative by the Pitch.rs crew that began in September 2013 in Amsterdam as a way for startups, entrepreneurs and small business to share a free beer together. My startup ZEEF hosted the second edition of The Startup Keg at our office. If you’re a startup and would like to host a Startup Keg at your office, you can send an email to Olivier Oskamp.

Friday, November 29th: Silicon Drinkabout Amsterdam
On Friday, November 29th Silicon Drinkabout Amsterdam will host their weekly event. Silicon Drinkabout is open to startups of all sizes as a place to meet like-minded people, have some fun and relax after another busy week.

Week of December 2nd – December 8th

Monday, December 2nd: Rockstart & WE CANTEEN Startup Lunch
On Monday, December 2nd Rockstart and WE CANTEEN host the bi-weekly startup lunch. Every two weeks one of the local WE CANTEEN caterers serves a delicious meal at Rockstart HQ. This edition the lunch will be provided by Toko Marloen.

Thursday, December 5th: Open Coffee Launchdesk
On Thursday, December 5th Launchdesk will host the monthly Open Coffee. Have a casual cup of coffee with about 100 tech enthousiasts at 09:00 in the Bovendebalie coworking space building.

Thursday, December 5th: Hackers and Founders
On Thursday, November 7th Hackers and Founders Amsterdam will host their monthly meetup. Formed by fans of Hacker News, the original Hackers and Founders started in Silicon Valley almost 3 years ago. Hackers and Founders meetups have since been meeting in New York, Indianapolis, Wellington, New Zealand, Boston and Mumbai.

Tip: De Grote Internet Show
On Monday, December 9th, Boris Veldhuijzen van Zanten and Patrick de Laive of The Next Web will host the second edition of the quarterly event De Grote Internet Show. This show is a live show that is full of the month’s most important internet related news. Boris and Patrick will also share the best jokes, the most inspiring videos and even the cutest LoLcats. There will be audience interaction and plenty of time for questions, comments, beer and wine. The evening will be full of unexpected twists and entertainment. I attended the premiere in September with the ZEEF team and really enjoyed the show, so make sure you buy your tickets before it’s sold out! 🙂
