Real-time search and analytics platform Elasticsearch announced to change its brand name into Elastic and acquired SaaS provider Found.
“As a growing number of people, including myself, have been referring to us as ‘Elastic’ since the inception of the company anyway, we believe this is actually a very fitting brand name for our us”, says CEO Steven Schuurman in a blog post.
In order for Elastic to grow beyond search, the founders also announced the acquisition of Elastic SaaS provider Found from Norway. The whole team will be joining Elastic.
Born as a search company in 2012, Elastic came to offer a full technology solution, enabling the extracting for meaningful insights, in real-time from large amounts of data. Elastic has been growing at an incredible rate, propelled investments like that of last June, when the startup raised 70 million dollar in Series C funding.
“Three years, five more products, 20 million downloads, 170 employees, and over 17,000 Meetup members later, the future is looking very bright”, concludes Schuurman.
