Video streaming startup Cleeng from Amsterdam just received 1,1 million euros in series A funding from Pascal Cagni, a former Apple executive.
Cleeng lets organizations make money with their videos, mainly through a pay per view module. The product works on big platforms like Brightcove, Livestream, Ustream and JWPlayer.
The funding will be used to further develop the product and to scale the sales activities in the US. The startup already has two offices in America, one in Austin and one in New York.
Shared history with Cleeng
Cagni and Cleeng have a history together: three from the four founders already worked with Cagni, when he led the European division of Apple from 2000 to 2012. Cagni also solely funded a 400.000 euro seed round in Cleeng back in 2012.
