Good morning! Here’s what you need to know about the Dutch startup scene last week.
Slack-competitor Pie, based in Singapore, got 1,2 million euro in series A funding from GREE Ventures and some informal investors.
Customer satisfaction tool GrowPromoter received 400.000 euro to expand internationally.
Also, last week was the launch of festival app Festive. The makers disclosed a 150.000 euro seed investment earlier this year.
Smart safe startup RCCS received ‘several millions’ and Athom, maker of the smart device tool Homey, got 1 million euro in seed funding from private investors.
The introduction of Apple News might be not so good news for Flipboard. The kiosk app is around since 2010 and has a hardcore group of believers. Flipboard even talked with Apple in the past. But now, competition is coming from Apple itself (article in Dutch).
The gamification-meets-energy-saving product Hyko from Care2Save started its crowdfunding campaign. The startup from Amsterdam, currently attending the Rockstart Smart Energy programme, is searching for 65.000 euro.
There are a lot of startup events this week, check out these highlights:
Festival The Green Platoon (Utrecht) is for sustainable startups who can win the Green Startup Award. 8 startups are pitching, among 4 UtrechtInc startups.
Workshop grants and fiscal benefits for startups by Vectrix (Amsterdam Science Park).
