Delft-based startup Bolt Mobility has secured a record investment from the crowd of over 1 million euro via convertible funding platform Leapfunder. The startup is currently developing their “Tesla on two wheels” electric scooter.
The first batch of scooters must be produced in 2016. 37 private investors pledged a total of 1,01 million euro today. During a recent pre-sale, 75 of the so-called AppScooters were already sold.
Using lightweight aerospace composites, the machine must accelerate from 0 to 45km/h in just 3,9 seconds. The battery promises to fuel up to 150 kilometers on a single charge.
Apps can be run on a “large screen in the cockpit. With a driver friendly interface and controls on the handlebars we solve death by apping”, say the producers. The scooter can be pre-ordered from 2990 euro.
The company was founded by Bart Jacobsz Rosier and Marijn Flipse, and entered incubator YES!Delft in the spring of this year.
