Dutch startup news update: funding, Wikipedia and the most profitable SME’s

Hello there! Here’s what happened in the Dutch startup community last week.

Funding

Tiqets, a Dutch booking site,  secured a 4 million dollar investment (3,65 million euro) from Dutch VC Capital Mills. Tiqets offers travelers mobile tickets to attractions, museums and entertainment. This investment gives Tiqets the resources to go global – adding 14 new cities in time for the summer high season.

Dutch VC EVO Venture Partners invested an undisclosed amount of seed financing in German startup DACS Laboratories. DACS Laboratories builds solutions that aim to accelerate digital data transfer and simplifies data management.

The Hague-based Airborne International, manufacturer of composites, received 12 million euro from a consortium of investors, including InnovationQuarter, Brabant Development Agency (BOM), Pangaea Ventures and HPE Growth Capital. The company, founded in 1995, wants to foster growth in the aerospace sector and invest in new technologies to produce composites more efficiently.

Updates

Amsterdam-based Quiver launched its new smartphone application for users to safely share digital files, allowing users to share photos, videos, and documents stored on their mobile device on their own terms.

Solease, a startup that rents out solar panels, announced an expansion of its service to customers in Overijssel, Limburg, Gelderland, Drenthe and Utrecht.
