L1nda, the personnel planning platform for the hospitality sector, received a 1 million euro investment from existing shareholder DHG and Dutch VC Newion Investments. The funding allows the Amsterdam-based startup to scale internationally.
With L1nda (founded in 2009), managers can easily recruit, plan and pay staff. Personnel (“generation Y and Z”) has easy access and insight to their shifts. Which of course improves the now so much wanted flexibility.
In The Netherlands over 30.000 employees use the platform. L1nda claims to be the local market leader in the hospitality sector. Next: international expansion.
“We did our first investment three years ago, because we had and have faith in the team, their knowledge of the hospitality branche and their vision on the future of workplace management”, said Thijs Gitmans of DHG. (DHG is an independent investment company of Gitmans and Rob de Heus.)
“The addition of Newion Investments is a big stimulus in knowledge and capital”, said CEO Wouter Suren, hinting at the B2B experience of the VC.
Since the company has been active for some years now, other Dutch startups are more and more discovering flexwork management. In 2014 Flexbook launched, and this year the similar startup Clevergig started crowdfunding. Earlier this year another startup in this field, Flex-Appeal, got funded.
