Dutch startup news update: Cristal, Bitsensor, Startup Fest Europe 2017

Oh boy, do we have a big update for you today with lots of funding. Here’s what you need to know about the startup scene in The Netherlands right now:

Funding

Cristal Therapeutics, a life sciences company based in Maastricht, got a 12.8 million euro investment from a Dutch and Belgian oncology ventures to develop nanomedicines against cancer. Several regional development funds also participated.

‘Employee onboarding’ startup Talmundo received 500.000 euro from Dutch VC TIIN Capital through its TIIN TechFund 3 fund. The company has Belgian roots but has its HQ in The Hague now for a while.

Security startup Bitsensor from the TU/e (Eindhoven technical university) raised 400.000 euro from Belgian VC Volta Ventures.

Good news for Dutch VC Newion Investments: it co-invested with Iconiq (the fund from Zuckerberg & co) in Belgian/US startup Collibra.

Amsterdam-based PressPage, which offers clients a tool to their PR and communications strategy, got an undisclosed investment from Dutch VC Capital Mills.

Eye on Air from Enschede, which created a sensor for the fast screening of explosives on/in passengers and luggage, got a 1.8 million euro investment. The money comes from existing shareholder Mainport Innovation Fund II and several private investors.
